A full-bodied red wine is lovely with great balance. Smoky, mocha notes intermingle with fleshy blackberries and blueberries. Deep and complex. The winery is situated in Geyserville and produced its first wines in 1974. Sonoma cabernet always has a terrific blend of fruit richness and spicy depth. Supple tannins with a long finish. Try it tonight with pork tenderloin.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled beef, dark chocolate, pork tenderloin, chicken salad.

Reviews and Ratings

Clos du Bois, located in Geyserville, released its first wines in 1974 and is a consistent advocate for the opulent style synonymous with the Alexander Valley. Impressive dark cherry and berry notes mixed with vanilla, smoke and a chewy oak character. Structured and complex, this fine example of Sonoma County Cabernet calls for thyme-rubbed cuts of beef, cooked rare. Source: Vintages Wine Ratings and Reviews, June 2013.
