Natalie's Score: 90/100

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2022 Chardonnay is an amazing value Columbia Valley Chard at $22. Dry, medium-bodied and vibrant with tropical fruit, orchard fruit, spicy and buttery notes on the palate with a long and luxurious leesy finish (from lees stirring), it is very nicely crafted. Washington State's oldest and most awarded winery (founded in 1912) has been producing top-quality wines since 1934. Interesting fact: during the summer, Columbia Valley sees about two more hours of sunlight per day than California, allowing grapes to fully ripen and retain their fresh acidity as well due to this region's cool summer nights.

Chardonnay food pairings: grilled chicken, pan-fried tempura shellfish, crab cakes, pork riblets.
