Produced from the oldest winery in Washington dating back to 1912, Chateau Ste. Michelle 2020 Chardonnay is excellent value at $21. The grapes for this 100% Chard were sourced from select sites throughout the Valley and aged six months sur-lie in both French & American oak barrels. Buttery on the nose with fresh pear, vanilla, full-bodied and smooth on the palate with ripe orchard and tropical fruit with a buttery caramel and toasty oak spice finish. Enjoy with a roast chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: grilled chicken, pan-fried tempura shellfish, crab cakes, pork riblets.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Ripe, balanced, and lovely. Aromas of lemon curd, pineapple, pear, and golden apple, with hints of honey and warm spices. This wine was aged sur-lie which has contributed to a nice medium+ body and creamy texture on the palate. Nicely balanced, creamy and buttery but with enough bright acidity. Enjoy with classic roasted chicken, creamy pastas, or pan seared scallops.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Chateau Ste Michelle offers an authentic Chardonnay from the Columbia Valley in California. This Chard shows aromas of mango, yellow apple, lime peel, butter, caramel, spice and vanilla. The 2020 vintage shows a full body, a long, coating finish, with supple acidity, making it a perfect sipper. Palate: cooked pineapple, starfruit, lemon, citrus blossom, curd, spice, toffee and vanilla. Enjoy!
Chateau Ste. Michelle 2020 Chardonnay is excellent value under $20. The grapes for this 100% Chardonnay were sourced from select sites throughout the valley and aged six months sur-lie in both French & American oak barrels. Buttery and smooth with fresh pear, vanilla, ripe orchard and tropical fruit flavours with a spicy finish. - Community Wine Reviews
