Rich and complex southern French red wine. Corbieres is an under-appreciated region- get some before the prices go up. A luscious, smoky, full-bodied blend of syrah and Grenache grapes, at a terrific price. Black pepper and fleshy black plum aromas. Velvet texture. Awesome! The southern French region of Corbières is often underestimated, and yet it's capable of producing blockbuster reds like this one. Usually Carignane is part of the blend, but not in this case. Intense and satisfying. Pair with ribeye steak.

Food pairings: roast leg of lamb, filet mignon, grilled meats.

Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a full-bodied southern French beauty from the less known Corbières appellation. A rich and juicy blend of Syrah and Grenache, it’s bursting with aromas and flavours of blackberries and cassis with subtle rosemary notes. Crafted in big, opulent style, it displays great depth and intensity. Smooth, well integrated tannins. Closes in long, lingering smoky finish. Fantastic with grilled meats, mature cheeses and dark chocolate. Score: 90/100. Tasted April 2017. Tania Thomas – www.runawaygrape.com
From the Midi wine region Chateau De Treviac (2014) is a 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache red wine blend. The wine is luscious, rich, smokey with velvety tannins. Just Excellent now with roast venison. Terrific price too. The 2012 vintage of the Château de Treviac won a Gold Medal at the 2014 Berliner Wein Trophy wine competition. And the 2014 vintage was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2016 Paris Concours Général Agricole. - Community Wine Reviews
