Natalie's Score: 92/100

A savoury and juicy southern French red wine. Love the smoky character of this wine. Corbieres is an under-appreciated region. A luscious, smoky, full-bodied blend of Syrah and Grenache grapes, at a terrific price. Black pepper and fleshy black plum aromas. Velvet texture. Awesome! The southern French region of Corbières is often underestimated, and yet it's capable of producing blockbuster reds like this one. Usually Carignane is part of the blend, but not in this case. Intense and satisfying. Pair with ribeye steak.

Food pairings: roast leg of lamb, filet mignon, grilled meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

On the nose, this full-bodied Red has earthy beet aromas as well as dark berries, cinnamon, pot-pourri, and cedar.

It has dark berry flavours, mostly blueberries, and a slightly bitter cocoa finish. The tannins are structured and the flavours linger. Overall, an enjoyable wine!

Tasted January 2018
Château De Tréviac (2015) is a rich, full-bodied 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah red wine blend from Corbières in the Midi wine region. So lush and smoky with ripe red fruit flavours, savoury spice and velvety tannins, this Southern France red is well-priced. Drink now with a sausage cassoulet or cellar for three to five years. - Community Wine Reviews
