Rosé food pairings: lox and capers, grilled salmon steak, shellfish, fresh fruit, veggies, pasta primavera.

Reviews and Ratings

Carola Price rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Brightly salmon coloured. The nose is herbaceous with lemon balm and thyme with strawberry and black pepper. The mouth is bitter but in a good way with more peppery strawberry flavour. This is a typical well made Tavel, known to match up to a steak as long as there's pepper and spice. I enjoy it with autumn BBQ's, mesquite smoked duck and even with Korean Bulgogi.

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A wonderful refreshing and well balanced Tavel rose with great acidity, slight tannins, ripe strawberry and a hint of tart cranberry. This wine pairs well with roasted pork tenderloin, roast turkey with fixings, or as a contrast to rich autumn soups and vegan root vegetables. @jonsteeves Rated 90/100 - tasted Sept 2016.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pretty bright pink appearance, moderate aromas and delicious flavours! I love the acidity, the medium body, the texture and the bone dry finish, and the overall balance. Lingering floral notes, young strawberries, and pink grapefruit flavours just begs for another sip. Stash this one one folks! Tasted Sept 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.com
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Charming rosé, from Tavel. This region specializes in crafting rosés from over a dozen grape varietals - some as common as Shiraz and some as obscure as Bourbalenc. They're dry and full bodied, as rosés go. This one is no exception.
The colour is the characteristic vibrant pink of Tavel, but in the glass there are some orange hues too.
The aromas give off some hints to the mineraliry. It smells of hothouse orchid, cherries, peach, and orange / lemon zest.
The flavours lead with more cherries, stone fruits, gala apple, and fresh fennel.
The vibrant bubblegum colour comes from a method of production dramatically referred to as the saignée (bleeding) method. This is an ideal picnic wine, but also makes a great appetizer pairing.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

A refreshing rosé for warm summer days…
Presentation: Classic, simple label
Appearance: Clear, pale, pink (a beautiful looking rosé)
Nose: Clean, light nose, with notes of strawberries and grass
Taste: Dry, light-to-medium body, medium acidity, low tannins, dominant minerals and herbaceous notes, with some underlying raspberries
Finish: Medium finish with lingering herbaceous notes
Overall impression: A good option on a warm summer day.
Value: 3/5
The 2015 vintage of the Tavel Rosé from Chateau d'Aqueria is a blend of Grenache, Clairette, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Bourboulenc and Picpoul grapes. Great texture and weight. Nestled between Avignon and the Pont du Gard in the Rhone Valley, Chateau d'Aqueria produces wines of racy tension and flavour. - Community Wine Review
