Natalie's Score: 92/100

A full-bodied blend of Malbec wine grapes from Altamira and Gualtallary that is brought up in 60% concrete tank with the balance in neutral oak. Fresh and fruit with great acidity for food -- a mouthful of fresh liquid cherries, fresh herbs and savoury spice. Tannins are grippy. Pair with an Argentinean Asado. The illustrated jaguar on the front label of this Argentine wine is considered the lord of the starred night in ancient Indian culture.

Malbec food pairings: herb-rubbed roast, breaded veal cutlets, duck breast, tagliatelle alla Bolognese.

Reviews and Ratings

Chakana Estate 2016 is savoury with cedar brush and mocha flavours on the palate met by mouth-watering acidity. This medium-plus-bodied Malbec is produced from wine grapes sourced from Altamira and Gualtallary that was aged mostly in cement (60%) with the balance in neutral oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
