The illustrated jaguar on the front label of this Argentine wine is considered the lord of the starred night in ancient Indian culture. Savoury with cedar brush aromas and juicy mouth-watering acidity in this full-bodied, black-fruited Argentine red wine made from Malbec grapes. Excellent taste and quality. The 2014 vintage of the Chakana Malbec Estate is matured in new and used French oak for 18 months. Pair with roast beef.

Malbec food pairings: herb-rubbed roast, breaded veal cutlets, duck breast, tagliatelle alla Bolognese.

Exceptional Malbec that bursts forward with purple plum, black cherry, meat blood, menthol, candied violets and wild flowers. A touch of cola and sassafras on the finish. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)

This Mendoza, Argentina Malbec shows bright Damson plum and cedar notes on nose, repeated with touch of mocha on a smooth palate with lip-smacking acidity.
