A full-bodied Chianti at a nice price. Firm tannins with aromas of sour cherry. It's a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo and Colorino grapes. This is the fourth largest winery in Tuscany. Decant 1 hour and pair with rare meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An older style Chianti which possess more structured characteristics. Crisp acids with a touch of tannins, lighter colours. A purity of cherry fruit along with a very subtle accent of forest floor. Perfect with a simple tomoto based pasta dish.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Pale ruby coloured with a bouquet consisting of red plums, dried cherries, smoke, leather and ash. Flavours are dry, and crisp with sour cherry, tobacco and spices. Dry with a hint of fruit at the back. High acidity with polished grippy tannins. Excellent QPR for this Chianti. A sound and solid match for sundried tomato pizza. 87 points - tasted November 2018
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A savoury, medium plus bodied, accessibly priced Chianti. Well balanced, medium finish with persistence of Cherry. Pairs well with charcuterie. Tasted 2016 vintage in November 2018. 88 points #greatvalue #crowdpleaser
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Cheap and cheerful Chianti - sour cherry candy, Italian leather, hints of herbs and spice. A bit hot (alcohol), zippy acidity, gritty tannins. Perfect with traditional lasagna. Tasted November 2018
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Throw this against pasta on a Tuesday night and you won't complain. High-toned Sangiovese with lots of fresh red cherry, herbs, tobacco and saddle leather. 87 Points.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Aromas of sour cherry, leather, spice and a hint of tobacco. Medium bodied on the palate, bright acidity, perfect for pasta or pizza night. Overall a good value.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

cranberry, wild blueberry, tree sap, and thyme. Gritty and savoury, with bracing acidity. Would go with a simple pizza or spaghetti Bolognese.
Luc Delorme rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

This Chianti opens up strong with sour cherry on the nose, which is joined by peppery notes on the palate, The Cecchi is dry, with well balanced acidity and tannins and a short and clean finish. Not the most complex Chianti out there, but good value for a wine to accompany a weekday pasta recipe.
