Made from estate grown, dry-farmed 90% Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese Grosso) grapes and 10% Canaiolo Nero grapes. This wine is aged more than 2 years in oak barrels then the wine is bottle aged for at least another year before being released from the winery. Berry jam, dried tobacco leaf, cedar spice and smoky aromas on the nose, with layers of ripe blackberry, dark plum, mocha, iron and smoky flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm, grippy and needs some time to come together. Give it two more years in cellar for it to start to show its best.

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva food pairings: meaty stews, grilled sirloin steak, tourtière.

Reviews and Ratings

Carpineto Riserva 2015 Nobile Di Montepulciano is a robust red with aromas of berry compote, sweet dried tobacco leaf, cedar spice and smoky on the nose. Dried cherry, blackberry, dark plum, black tea, smoke and cedar spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are still quite firm. But the Riserva is starting to show its best. Decant one hour prior to pouring with a T-bone steak or venison stew. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
