Better than ever, and still priced remarkably low for the quality. Full-bodied, supple and juicy with luscious aromas and flavours of fleshy black plum, mocha and a touch of mint. Beautifully structured and balanced.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: full-flavored red meats such as lamb, ribs beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Malcolm Lamont - WSET Adv, CSW rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This clear wine has a deep ruby colour with slow-moving legs with some colour extraction. On the nose it is clean with medium+ developing aromas of violet, cassis, eucalyptus, blackberry, cedar, peppermint, vanilla and capsicum (green pepper).

It is dry with medium+ acidity, tannins, alcohol, and body. It has a medium+ flavour intensity of cassis, cedar, violet, vanilla, cloves and black pepper.

This wine has silky tannins, and potential for ageing.

Kevin O'Rourke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A brilliant example of Cabernet from Carmen. They really know how to extract the best from each varietal and this is no exception. Teeming with Blackcurrants and a slight spice, gorgeous with steak and available in the UK at www.wineman.co.uk
Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2010 Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon , aged in French oak for 10 months, has intense aromas of prune, oak, light earthiness and vanilla. It is a full-bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine, with forward acidity, chalky mouthfeel, refined tannins and a long, smooth finish. Drink as a sipper; drink now to 2018+. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts – recommended mainly for quality though the value is great. Tasted at Wines of Chile 2013 tasting in October/13 - http://grapeselections.com/wines-of-chile-2013/

Ce vin a beaucoup de saveurs poivrées, de fruits noirs riches et d’épices riches avec une structure fine et des tannins fermes.

Source: NB Magasin d'Alcool
This Gran Reserva Merlot has an intense deep dark ruby colour. The nose is dominated by
blackberry, ripe plums, liquorice and soft roasted coffee hints. Our Gran Reserva Merlot has lots of flesh, round tannins and good structure. The wine has good depth and a vibrant finish with lots of varietal character.
Tasting NotesNose: Rich, plenty of blackcurrants, lead pencil, with alluring bittersweet cocoa and espresso.
Palate: Rich, deep, full bodied, balanced and very long aftertaste
