Kevin O'Rourke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A brilliant example of Cabernet from Carmen. They really know how to extract the best from each varietal and this is no exception. Teeming with Blackcurrants and a slight spice, gorgeous with steak and available in the UK at www.wineman.co.uk

Ce vin a beaucoup de saveurs poivrées, de fruits noirs riches et dā€™épices riches avec une structure fine et des tannins fermes.

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2010 Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon , aged in French oak for 10 months, has intense aromas of prune, oak, light earthiness and vanilla. It is a full-bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine, with forward acidity, chalky mouthfeel, refined tannins and a long, smooth finish. Drink as a sipper; drink now to 2018+. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts ā€“ recommended mainly for quality though the value is great. Malcolm Lamont rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This clear wine has a deep ruby colour with slow-moving legs with some colour extraction. On the nose it is clean with medium+ developing aromas of violet, cassis, eucalyptus, blackberry, cedar, peppermint, vanilla and capsicum (green pepper).

It is dry with medium+ acidity, tannins, alcohol, and body. It has a medium+ flavour intensity of cassis, cedar, violet, vanilla, cloves and black pepper.

This wine has silky tannins, and potential for ageing.

Natalie's Review

Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Maipo Valley, Chile: Better than ever, and still priced remarkably low for the quality. Full-bodied, supple and juicy with luscious aromas and flavours of fleshy black plum, mocha and a touch of mint. Beautifully structured and balanced. Drink: 2012-2016. 358309 14% D 750 mL  $20.00 Score: 90/100. June 22, 2012 Best Beef Wine  Full Review
