Smoky campfire aromas on the nose. The palate is round and supple with lots of sweet chocolate and mocha notes. Cannonball (on the label) represents freedom: the child with legs tucked up underneath him as he dives into the water. Lots of fleshy ripe black fruit here in this big Californian Cabernet. Full-bodied with some herbal notes. Lots of mocha, cocoa, cola, and smoke from generous oak aging. Good tannin structure and balance. Pair with Beef daube.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled burgers, Margherita pizza, pepper steaks, smoky ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A smokey cab sauvignon from Sonoma. Good body, good acidity, med tannins, all well balanced. Fruit + smoke = easy drinking!
