Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The nose here is tight but eventually offered up raspberry notes. Subtle fruit on the palate with dried thyme and chocolate hints. Smooth and rich with very fine tannins and a satisfying, long finish. Pair with beef tenderloin or rack of lamb. Tasted July 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Ripe black cherry, subtle garrigue, a touch of smoke, and a hint of minerality on the layered and complex nose. Grippy and robust tannins. Good acidity thanks to a large diurnal range. The hot days and cool nights that the 2016 growing season delivered to the Southern Rhone make this a banner vintage. Ageworthy and happiest with food, enjoy this CdP over the next decade with cassoulet with duck confit.
From the Rhône wine region, Brotte Domaine Barville Châteauneuf du Pape 2016 is a full-bodied 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre with rich red berry, dark plum, wild herb and savoury spice flavours vibrant on the palate. Smooth, lush and intense. Enjoy now and for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
