A terrific Greek red wine made from the Agiorgitiko grape. Aromas of red berries, plum, spice, leather, and fresh earth. Racy acidity for tangy tomato sauce dishes. Supple and smooth. Great value.

Reviews and Ratings

Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

An easy sipping wine of great value and an interesting sweet nose.…
Presentation: Clean, plain basic label, with nice font
Appearance: Pale-medium purple-ruby
Nose: Pronounced nose, sweet smells of red licorice, red cherry, sweet charred wood
Taste: Dry, medium body, medium-high acidity, medium, bitter tannins, red cherry, minerals (slate), charred wood
Finish: medium-long sweet cherry and mineral, dirt finish
Overall impression: A pleasant wine that would go with an array of lighter fare, such as cheese or veal, though it could easily be sipped on its own. We particularly enjoyed the sweet licorice nose, complemented with the interesting sweet charred wood notes.
Value: 4.5/5
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas of raspberry, cherry, and warm spices. Lots of cherry on the palate, and a little hint of vanilla and also some minerality on the finish. Enjoy with a charcuterie and cheeses plate, could also benefit from slight chilling.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A decadent and excellently valued, Greek wine made from 100% Agiorgitiko grapes from the Nemea region. Aged for 12 months in Oak. Medium garnet colour. A bright aromatic bouquet of blackberry, plum and prune. Flavours reflect blackberry, strawberry, dates and herbal touches. Additionally there’s a fair bit of bakers chocolate and a hint of caramel sweetness lasting into the finish. Medium body, acidity and well integrated smooth tannins. Pair with traditional lamb sausage and stuffed dates. 88 points - tasted March 11th, 2018
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Not a bad little wine, with plum, flowers, oak, spice and lots of pepper. Demands marinated red meats. 88 points.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Bouquet of cherry and a hint of smoke. Light- to medium-bodied, smooth on the palette with flavours of raspberry, cranberry. There are balanced tannins and some minerality on the finish. Pair with food that can be complimentary to the tart and bitter flavours (think spinach- or kale-based salad, soft cheeses like feta or brie, sauces that are mustard, red-wine or soy based). If you're looking to branch out from your usual European wines, give this Greek red a try. Great value for $13
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Ruby in colour with aromas of raspberry, cherry, plum, leather and a hint of black pepper. It is medium bodied with light tannins and biting acidity with tart black cherry flavours. This will pair nicely with tomotao based dishes or medium cheeses. Tasted on March 11, 2018.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier reviewed this wine as follows:

Easy drinking red, with aromas of dark cherries, vanilla and cloves, that carry through to red cherry mouth.
Wonderful with a variety of cheeses.
Tasted March 2018.
