Vintages Wine Panel: An excellent value, this Crianza is comprised of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha. The nose is smoky with black licorice, blackberry, and cocoa notes as well as a hint of new leather. It’s dry, medium-bodied with the toasty oak flavours in balance with the fruit. There’s ample tannin and a touch of spice on the medium long finish. My note: A good solid full-bodied red wine for the money. Aromas of licorice, blackberry and leather.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This light to medium bodied, fruity to integrated wine is acidic at the beginning and really needs to open up for more than an hour before being quite nice and flavourful. Aromas consist of raspberry, strawberry, red currant as well as oak and vanilla. The finish is medium and the wine can benefit (not much) from aging for up to two more years. My impression: NICE, especially at this price. Tasted Jan/10.
Jason Solanki rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Smoky blackberry, plum and black licorice aromas which follow through on the palate. Also notes of crushed red berries and leather. Spicy finish. Light- to medium-bodied and ripe. Definitely ready to drink now. Tasted Feb/2011.
John Cranfield rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Not a light wine. Needs meat and needs to breath. Distinctive Rioja. Lower alcohol than expected
