Natalie's Score: 90/100

Grilled meat aromas and savory notes of bacon and blackberries wrapped in smoke on the nose and palate. Full-bodied and rich with mocha and vanilla-spice on the finish. Tannic grip so decant 1-2 hours. Some leather and cigar box give this wine an intriguingly mature bouquet. Amazing for the price. Try this Spanish red wine rock star.

Tempranillo Garnacha food pairings: chorizo sausage empanadas, tapas dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Intense flavours of currant, blueberry, mocha, with some soft leather aromas. Full bodied, with firm tannins that have softened a bit with age. Lots of currant, raisin and subtle oak and vanilla on the palate.. Tasted the 2010 in October 2018. Enjoy with sausage or slightly spicy meat dishes.
This iconic Spanish red wine is a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes grown in the family's vineyards planted high on the mountainous slopes of eastern Rioja. This Crianza is aged for 12 months in oak. Pair with pasta in meat sauces and cured ham. - Community Wine Reviews
