A towering, blockbuster Californian Cabernet that still needs cellar time. Classic aromas of cassis and black currant Deeply concentrated and complex with a firm tannic grip that will integrate and become smoother with cellar time then decanting of 2 hours. Pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: veal chops, rosemary lamb, barbecued ribs in sauce, chicken cacciatore.

Reviews and Ratings

Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby, gorgeous nose with cassis, currant, black cherry blackberry, faint herbs and spice notes. Supple, and lush on the palate, well integrated oak, great balance and depth of fruit. In the premium Cab Sauv category, this does not disappoint. I'd love this with a grilled tenderloin with an herb infused pat of butter.
Tasted November 2015.
Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Enticing aromas of California CS that shows great ripeness and expert handling of the oak on the nose. Beautiful alluring premium CS, amongst a crowded category of $50 Cali CS. More fruit dominated than many of it's competition, this wine seduces you with it's balance, smoothness and weight. A large volume of this wine is produced without loosing the craft.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Intense dark fruit. Good acid. Firm tannins. Full bodied with nice long spice finish. A touch alcoholic on the finish, otherwise great balance.

Trevor Sabourin - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Cassis, stewed dark cherry, blackberry jam, prune, vanilla, mint, cedar, and tobacco on the nose. Some leather, clove, and cocoa add to these on the palate. Full bodied, with medium acidity and tannins. Excellent length.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is very appealing and intense from the very first sniff. Aromas of dark berry fruit, dark cherry, vanilla and spice. Pair with Spaghetti and Meatballs. Tasted on November 29, 2015 (89/100)
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Full-bodied Napa Valley Cab Sauv with ripe strawberries and vanilla on the nose. Strawberries, cassis, vanilla, cedar, mint in an extra-dry, tannic mouthfeel with long cedar finish.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Blackberry and vanilla aromas and flavors with some spice on the finish. Tannins are a bit grippy and could use some cellar time to soften them up. Pair with burgers, pizza or grilled meat.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Black plums, cedar, blueberry, old leather, and baking spices make up the aroma. The taste is spicy blackberry, and cherry. The tannins are grippy but not overpowering and the acidity is quite bright.
Valérie Dufour - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Plenty of syrup and blueberry jam on the nose. Some torrefaction and spices (cinnammon) notes too. Well it is to be expected for that type of big wines made to please the palate. And this is exactly what it does. This is a high quality cab with lots of matter to last a long time in the cellar. In fact, it is not ready to drink since the tannins are still harsh and the wood is still very much there. For those who love big muscle Californian wines, this is for you. It is well made and it is not monotone, meaning there is way more to it than fruit. But if you want to drink it now, better to carafe it 2 hours before and don't be gentle. Pair it with grilled red meat.
Steven rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Red Cherry, nice old leather, blueberry, flavours of tart cherry, vanilla, woody flavours, with lots of tannins. Could age longer, but very tasty with beef.
OTHER: A Cabernet with balance and tannin backbone that gives it tension and focus. Full body, solid depth of fruit and a mushroom, spice and berry character. Clearly outstanding. Drink or hold. Score - 92 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, July 28, 2015) - Community Wine Reviews
