Natalie's Score: 88/100

Full-on chocolate, mocha and espresso aromas on the nose almost over-power the cherry fruit underneath. Liquid fudge. Generous oak aging adds richness and those dark chocolate flavours. Supple and smooth. I prefer other Pinots from this winery, but to each his own taste-wise.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I was lucky enough to try this Pinot Noir twice this past week, and sure enough, the second time it was just as good as the first. Gorgeous expression of a Pinot Noir, with bright cherries, cranberries, a subtle hint of oak and a spicy finish. Silky tannins and a nice finish, and although I had this wine at two separate wine tastings, I think it would be a new favorite to go with chicken, especially my maple Dijon chicken or my spicy honey chicken. Yum!
The vines for this Pinot Noir grow in alluvial soils of the Russian River Valley. Heavy fog rolls in over the coastal range and burns off when the sun reaches its highest point in the day. This cooling morning effect and the loamy soils allows the Dijon clone of Pinot Noir in this wine to ripen slowly but to full maturity. - Winery
