Belle Glos is a lush Pinot Noir with dark cherries, dried fruit, dark chocolate and vanilla flavours on the palate. The Pinot Noir wine grapes are grown on the alluvial soils of the Russian River Valley. Heavy fog rolls in over the coastal range and burns off when the sun reaches its highest point in the day. This cooling morning effect and the loamy soils allows the Dijon clone of Pinot Noir in this wine to ripen slowly to full maturity.

Pinot Noir food pairings: grilled chicken, roast pheasant, stuffed roast of veal breast.

Reviews and Ratings

Belle Glos is a lush and rich Pinot Noir from the Dairyman Vineyard, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, California. The vineyard was so named after and old dairy farm and pastureland on the site. Rich dark cherries, figgy, dark chocolate and vanilla flavours make this dry (10 g/l res sugar) full-bodied Pinot Noir almost seem sweet, but it is more the mix of Dijon clones 116, 667 and 777 on low vigor rootstock, and the ripeness of the grapes for this 2016 vintage that makes this wine so seductive and succulent. The vineyard sits in the southern alluvial plains of Russian River Valley near the ocean with cooling fogs entering through the Petaluma Gap both in the morning and evening and afternoon breezes that help mitigate the heat of the sun. - Community Wine Reviews
