Sexy and smooth, a delicious blend of 70% Syrah, 30% Grenache. Showing ripe dark berries- cassis and blackberries, with spicy notes, fleshy smoked meat and a hint of milk chocolate. Silky texture with great balance and finesse. A sensuous date wine.

A classic Mediterranean blend (old vine grenache with syrah) with plenty of sappy, very ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit, bold and satisfying. There's evident density and concentration, but more than just raisined fruit and alcohol - there's a nice lick of scorched earth-schist and wild herbal flavours to add complexity. This competes with many Southern Rhone wines at a very attractive price. Tasted February 2018. Value Rating: ***
Melanie Lloyd rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
Ripe strawberry aromas blended with the sweet floral smell of lilacs and violets, as well as cedar, cloves and hints of cigar box.
The tannins are medium and there is flavours of juicy blackberries, cinnamon, espresso and a long cocoa finish.

Bastide Miraflors Vieilles Vignes Syrah Grenache 2015, CĂ´tes De Roussillon, Midi A.P., France: A blockbuster southern French red wine blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache grapes with lip-smacking juiciness on the palate. The Grenache component of the wine was aged for 1 year in 80% concrete tanks while the Syrah was matured in 500-litre demi-muids (large barrels). Purple plums and blueberry pie on the nose and palate of this robust, smooth, juicy French red wine. Pair with hamburgers and relish with salsa on the side.
