Lots of interesting character in this wine - wild brambly blackberry, dark chocolate, slate-y, chewy tannins, noticable acidity; dry, bold, expressive and unique. Hold for 2 to3 years.

Nice Priorat that's typical of the area.

Dark fruits, spicy notes, savoury mid-palate and long herbal finish. Definitely chewy.

Big, bold, higher in alcohol and drinking well now, but will benefit from a bit of time in bottle.

Pair with robust meat-based dishes.

A big, bold, dense and generous Priorat in the typical regional mould (15.5% alcohol declared), yet kept honest and whole by savoury herbs and a pleasantly bitter phenolic edge. Acids are a touch shrill on the back end, but then again, that's the case for countless overripe wines at 2 and 3 times the price. Seekers of thick, chewy, concentrated reds that really grip the palate will love this for the money. I'd put it in the excellent value category for the genre, a wine that also carries a sense of place. Tasted August 2016. Value Rating: ***
