This wine has an intensity to it! Rich fruit aromas of blueberry, plum, dried fruit and a hint of chocolate. Big flavour including leather, cedar, and rich ripe and dried fruit. Intense tannin, full bodied, and a longer finish. Have this with a nice steak dinner, maybe on a special occasion. 90+

A bit austre on first nose, with some brambly dark bush fruit poking through. Fairly seamlessly integrated with the oak treatment, the only hint being a quick and seductive whisper of vanilla-caramel on the mid palate. Rich and focused on its own power, its a bit of a mystery as it unfolds, bringing cedar, leather, ripe and dried black fruits, brambleberries and field berry compote nicely wrapped up in a bracing acidic cloak which is part tannin and part of the reason why this is such a great blending wine, bringing great depth and a bottomless fount of muscle into your glass. Barbeque, prime rib, most game meats do well - especially venison, done medium rare with a nice blueberry reduction.

Nov 16, 2014: Dark ruby/purple, dark fruited, blackberry, stewed fruit, oak/baking spice. Full bodied, richly textured, plummy, dark berry, oak spice and mineral with good acidity to balance firm tannins. Fine wine for rare beef or hearty braised dishes. Drink overy the next 10+ years.

Juicy plum and black cherry, india ink, vanillla, eucalyptus, dried herbs, and more. The taste is extremely well balanced between the juicy cherry and, blackbery, and cassis, the acidity, and the well rounded tannins. Pair with roast beef, stew, steak, pork, etc. If you don't have the perfect food, this is a perfect wine for drinking on its own.
