A spicy, rich Rhône red made from Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre wine grapes and produced by Xavier Vignon. Lots of ripe raspberry and sweet spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine. The Grenache wine for this blend was aged in tank. Enjoy now and for the next three years. Pair with grilled pork sausages.

Food pairings: sausage and bean cassoulet, gourmet hamburgers, Salisbury steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A respected wine consultant now producing his own wines, Xavier Vignon's wines are always a reliable choice. This GSM has an elegant nose of raspberry and cherry that carries over to the palate. Well balanced with grippy tannins on the finish. Good value. Try it with kebabs. Tasted July 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
From the Ventoux wine region, Xavier Vignon 2017 is produced by Xavier Vignon, consulting winemaker for several respected Rhone Valley wineries. This medium-plus-bodied vintage is juicy and intense with a 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre red wine blend. Look for ripe dark raspberry, baking spice and dark chocolate flavours lingering on the palate. Tannins are smooth and velvety. Enjoy with a grilled hangar steak done rare. - Community Wine Reviews
