Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This medium ruby Cotes du Rhone blend Rhone has a flutter of TCA happening, which normally would be off-putting but in this case it added to the character. Mushroom dusted blueberries, red cherries and dried herbs and the flavours are divine - earthy raspberry, cedar, green pepper and stemmy forest brush. Dry with high, spry acidity, medium plus body and finish with lingering velvety tannins. Pair with balsamic chicken or veal.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Fragrant and flavourful Cotes du Rhone GSM blend. Shows lots of ripe red fruit, blackberries, sweet spice with a hit of smoke. Good acidity and structure makes it food-friendly and quaffable. Great with meat stews, olives, charcuterie.

Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This winery put out a dynamite buy in 2010 and 2011 which I still fondly remember. This wine isn't as great as those but a solid buy none the less. Lovely nose, berry fruit and elevated levels of alcohol from the Grenache. Buy this one as it's a great buy in itself but don't expect lightning to hit 3 times in a decade.
Xavier 2016 is a well-priced Côtes Du Rhône, Rhône wine region red. Dry, and robust, this full-bodied, smoky red is a blend of equal amount of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre fairly dripping with ripe red cherry, sweet cake spice and mocha flavours smooth on the palate. The Grenache vines were planted nearly 100 years ago. Pair with lamburgers. - Community Wine Reviews
