This robust Australian red wine is a blend of 89% cabernet sauvignon, 6% Malbec and 5% petit Verdot grapes. Small lots of these grapes were fermented together and then spent 4 weeks on the grape skins to impart extra colour, flavour and depth to the wine. The wine was matured for 14 months in French oak barriques, of which 40% was new. A full-bodied Australian red wine with aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and wild blackberry all wrapped in toasty oak. Pair with roast beef.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled lamb chops, Asian chicken salad, pork tenderloin, hodge-podge.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Lovely earthy, minty, peppery notes on the nose here that carry to the palate. Layers of black plum and currant on the palate. This will be stunning after 2-3 more years in the cellar, then enjoy with prime rib. Tasted Nov 22, 2019 www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Xanadu 2013 is a full-bodied, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with Malbec and Petit Verdot red from the Margaret River wine region in Western Australia. Small lots of these grapes were fermented together and then spent four weeks on the grape skins to impart extra colour, flavour and depth to the wine. The wine was matured for 14 months in French oak barriques, of which 40% was new. Look for ripe mulberry, blackcurrant and plum concentrated on the palate with a kiss of mint, earthy and smoky vanilla flavours. - Community Wine Reviews
