Luscious and rich with cassis, fleshy blackberry and blackcurrant. Absolutely classic with a long finish. Tremendous quality for the price. There's some seductive anise and dark spice on the long finish. Liquid velvet.

2013 was a great vintage. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 15 months in French oak, a third of it new. Deep inky ruby colour with deep staining tears. Quite complex! Pronounced aromas of blackberry, dark cherry, plum, blueberry, eucalyptus, mint, vanilla, toast, smoke, clove and a touch of mineral. Very fruity with pronounced flavours of cassis, red cherry, blackberry, bitter chocolate, toasty oak and graphite. Medium plus acidity and tannins with a long finish and a full body. Big, round and full. Deliciously dry and deep dark fruit. Can drink now but has the potential to age. Pair with strong cheeses and gamy meats.

Developing nose with heaps of fruit and spice: black currant, red & black plums, kirsch, cloves, vanilla, tobacco, eucalyptus.

Rich and round on the palate with medium+ acid and tannins well-balanced across a full body of flavour. Plum jam, cooked blackberry, chocolate, allspice, liquorice. Nice long finish.


One of the more classic Coonawarra Cabernets, Wynns also produces good value for what's in the bottle. Keep a few of these down to see how they develop.
