Vintages Wine Panel: This Rhône-style blend got our attention. Lovely lifted black fruit aromas layered with notes of peppery spice, tar, leather, red licorice, and woodsmoke. Dry, medium bodied, with supple tannins, bright acidity, and a core of spicy fruit. The perfect match for barbecued fare (bring on the back ribs!), but its refreshing acidity and easy-drinking nature also make it a lovely sipper. My note: Spicy dark plums and berries with terrific extraction of flavour, concentration and depth. A smoky, spicy finish that's deeply satisfying for those who love full-bodied wonders.

Boekenhoutskloof in the Franschhoek Valley wine ward, has been voted as one of the top five wineries in South Africa and owner, Marc Kent the owner, was named Winemaker of the Year in 2007. In my view he can do no wrong.
The Wolf Trap 2009 is a second tier blend which offers amazing value for money.Delicious on it's own, the wine exploded on my palate when I paired it with rare roast beef and mustard.
John Gushue rated this wine as 82/100
