Boekenhoutskloof in the Franschhoek Valley wine ward, has been voted as one of the top five wineries in South Africa and owner, Marc Kent the owner, was named Winemaker of the Year in 2007. In my view he can do no wrong.
The Wolf Trap 2009 is a second tier blend which offers amazing value for money.Delicious on it's own, the wine exploded on my palate when I paired it with rare roast beef and mustard.

Natalie's Review

Wolf Trap Syrah Mourvèdre Viognier 2009, Franschhoek, South Africa: Vintages Wine Panel: This Rhône-style blend got our attention. Lovely lifted black fruit aromas layered with notes of peppery spice, tar, leather, red licorice, and woodsmoke. Dry, medium bodied, with supple tannins, bright acidity, and a core of spicy fruit. The perfect match for barbecued fare (bring on the back ribs!), but its refreshing acidity and easy-drinking nature also make it a lovely sipper. My note: Spicy dark plums and berries with terrific extraction of flavour, concentration and depth. A smoky, spicy finish that's deeply satisfying for those who love full-bodied wonders. Drink: 2010-2014. 626333 14.50% XD 750 mL  $14.00 Score: 89/100. July 10, 2010  Full Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
