Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely intense dark purple colour. Broad nose includes burnt vanilla, cured meat, smoke, chocolate, black cherry, and plum up front, while breathing reveals dried herbs, mint, and violet. Nicely structured, food friendly, and ready to drink. The addition of a small amount of Barbera to the blend helps maintain that fresh acidity and soften the tannins ever so slightly. Clever winemaking, and with such good value. Pair with grilled steaks and pepper sauce, ox cheek stew, or homemade chili, not too spicy.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Inky purple in the glass. The nose is reminiscent of a field berry crumble with lots of warm, sweet, ripe fruit. This will be a crowd pleaser as a fruity smooth sipper. It is well balanced and goes down easy. Try it with BBQ anything, lamb burgers, flavoured cheeses. Tasted April 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
