Robust aromas and flavours of dark fruit, toasty oak, chocolate and mocha. Smooth and party pleasing. This is a blend of red wine grapes that changes each year in terms of particular grapes used and their proportions, much like the flagship wine for this producer.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Welcome to Wildass Country. Hand picked, handcrafted and patiently aged(from Stratus Wildass website)at Stratus winery in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. Their tasting room is always a sensory experience.
Medium+ body. Rich ruby colour with enticing aromas of cherry pie, plum, caramel, vanilla, smokey oak. There is a rich creaminess to this wine that is very soothing; like wrapping a warm blanket on a cold Canadian winter evening. Tannins are smooth. Winery suggests enjoy now but could cellar up to two years. At $19.95 I suggest sipping this wine now in front of a hot fire.
Roasted lamb, hearty beef stew, grilled steak , with friends
