Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This traditional Niagara Chardonnay was aged in oak barrels previously used to store whiskey, imparting toasted caramel notes to the aromas and flavours.
Primary notes of tropical fruit transform into buttery caramel overtures, and eventually into a crisp green apple finish.
Perfectly paired with spinach, pecan and goat cheese salad, or creamy pasta dishes.
Tasted February 2021.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a lovely Chardonnay from the Okanagan Valley, with aromas of golden apple, pineapple, and melon, with notes of toffee and vanilla. Full bodied on the palate, smooth with medium acidity balancing ripe citrus and orchard fruit on the palate, with a touch of vanilla on the finish. Enjoy with a classic herb-roasted chicken.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This oaked chardonnay showcased plenty of rich tropical fruit aromas and flavors. In my glass, these notes were accompanied by grapefruit, lemon, lime and crushed stone accents rather than vanilla or butter. A nice change of pace. Creatively, the oak barrels had aged whisky before they touched this British Columbia chard.

Crafted in the Okanagan Valley appellation, this creation featured a midweight, mouth-watering, textured palate with some pulling power. Serve it chilled with grilled chicken dusted with Portuguese Peri Peri seasoning. Enjoy.

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A full-bodied Chardonnay , dry, with good acidity and a pronounced nose of baking spice, clove, overripe pineapple, a hint of vanilla and buttered popcorn. In the mouth the clove, baking spice and overripe pineapple notes predominate, with a nice creamy mouth feel. This paired very well with roast chicken; it could make a nice quick supper when paired with a takeout BBQ/roast chicken.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

An aromatic Chardonnay, from the Wayne Gretzky Estates, offers a warm bouquet of yellow apple, cooked pineapple, apricot, saline, citrus blossom, butter, vanilla and pie crust. This 2019 vintage displays a medium body, good acidity and a short finish. Palate: white peach, lime peel, saline, toast, baking spice and pie crust. Enjoy.
Pam Hatton rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

An oaked Chardonnay with a nose of apple, pineapple and caramel. A medium bodied dry wine with the same fruit on the palate, saline and butterscotch. A little ageing will soften the oak to more buttery and vanilla flavours. A clean crisp apple finish balances the wine. Will pair well with pork and chicken dishes with creamy sauces.
