Reviews and Ratings

Pascal rated this wine as 94/100
Jessica Nagy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The 2012 vintage from No.99 is a full-bodied red that really reflects the hot, dry growing season we had in Southern Ontario that year. The nose is dense with concentrated, dark fruits typical of these varietals such as cassis and black cherry, backed up by rich cedar, leather, clove and tobacco aromas. Flavours of black tea and dark chocolate marry well with those of stone fruits and black berries on the palate. The mouthfeel is quite suave for a wine that could use a couple of years on the rack, which will give it an even more smooth finish. But if you can’t wait to open it, I’d recommend giving it a good half hour to breathe or run through an aerator before drinking with a nice grilled, grass-fed steak or rare roast and baked potatoes.
Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

No. 99 Wayne Gretzky Estates Cabernet-Merlot shows a savoury melange of damson plum and sweet cherry fruit aromas framed by complex cocoa and oak spice. It is medium-bodied and robust in the mouth, with black raspberry and cassis fruit in balance with moderate tannin on a long, elegant finish.
