Huge and towering, this blockbuster Australian red wine also has terrific balance, with the fleshy dark fruit aromas and structure to handle its heft. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with a juicy steak.

Shiraz food pairings: grilled pork chops, rare roast beef, burgers with blue cheese, spice-braised lamb, Muscovy duck.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aroma of black fruit with luscious flavors of blackberry, plum, mocha and spice. Soft tannins give way to a long smooth finish. Pair with beef stew or brisket.
The name of this Australian wine, Angels' Share, refers to the naturally evaporating amount of wine, say 2%, that goes into the atmosphere from the oak barrels as it ages -- presumably for the drinking pleasure of angels. Medieval winemakers assumed that angels watched over the wines and took their share. - Community Wine Reviews
