Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful unoaked Malbec, apltly named pure after its unoaked vinification. This Mendoza Malbec shows blackberry, plum, black tea, and 90% cocoa dark chocolate. A Slight bitterness yet balanced with the wonderful fruit. Declared 13.5% ABV. Pair with Roast chicken, turkey dinner, Roasted pork tenderloin or a vegan quinoa salad. Tasted 2015 vintage on Malbec world day 2017. 90 points.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely aromas of black cherry, blueberry, cocoa, vanilla, and a little smoked meat. The taste is smooth black and red cherry with medium-plus acidity and little tannins. Bright, juicy, and deep. I paired this with a beef stew to near-perfection.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A concentrated Damson plum nose leads to a jammy (plum) palate with mocha and white pepper. Zippy acidity, long finish. Great with pork souvlaki/kebabs.
Tasted May2017
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Blackberry, plum and sweet spice on the nose with juicy black fruit on the palate. Medium body and medium length. Would pair well with burgers. Tasted Oct 02, 2016.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Trapiche Pure Malbec 2015 is a medium bodied wine that features aromas and flavours of berry and spice. An easy going Malbec. Tasted October 2016 (88/100)
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

An approachable Malbec. Deep purple in color. Dominant blackberry aroma, mixed with spices and some tar, Light, dry wine with medium young tannins. The blackberry aroma continues in the mouth and ends in long sour finish.
