Natalie's Score: 92/100

Whispers mocha espresso on the nose from oak aging, followed by a full whistle stop of fleshy blackberry aromas. This robust red wine is a blend of Garnacha and Carinena grapes planted in licorella slate soils on steep hillsides. Sounds like a lot of hot, back-breaking work to pick these suckers. You should be appreciative. The wine is aged in fine-grained French oak barrels for 18 months. Pair with filet mignon.

Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark and silky, with aromas of firm black cherry, blackberry, India ink and graphite, cocoa, blueberry, and smoke. Tastes of tart blackberry and grippy tannins balance very well and will continue to improve for several years. The mouth-feel is not timid; brightly acidic, grippy, well structured tannins, and silky fruits let you know you're drinking a full-bodied wine. The finish is silky black cherry with a touch of graphite. An outstanding wine for rare steak.
Lots of black raspberry liqueur, dried herbs and smoke. Full-bodied weight and texture on this red wine that finishes with anise. - Community Wine reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
