Natalie's Score: 92/100

Whispers mocha espresso on the nose from oak aging, followed by a full whistle stop of fleshy blackberry aromas. This robust red wine is a blend of Garnacha and Carinena grapes planted in licorella slate soils on steep hillsides. Sounds like a lot of hot, back-breaking work to pick these suckers. You should be appreciative. The wine is aged in fine-grained French oak barrels for 18 months. Pair with filet mignon.

Food pairings: bison burgers, minced venison steak, roast pheasant stuffed with wild mushroom.

Reviews and Ratings

Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep, inky purple in colour. Elegant, restrained nose with violet, dark cherry, cassis and kirsch notes. Full-bodied, densely structured, with layers of rich, concentrated fruit, tobacco, cedar and kirsch notes. The toasty oak, firm tannins and potent alcohol are all well integrated. This bold red needs time and/ or a few hours of decanting to reveal its full potential.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful ruby red colour with a light, ruby rim. Raspberry, strawberry, vanilla and stewed fruit and smokey notes on the nose. Lots of bright fruit on the palate with medium tannins. In a word, lovely. Tasted July 24, 2016.
Cos Perpetual (2013) from Priorat, Spain, is produced by Torres and has been created in homage to the old "vinos de guarda", wines capable of defeating time and so suitable for long cellaring. After the success of Torres' first Priorat wine, "Salmos", the family decided to make a flagship wine for the Priorat winery that would show its commitment to the area. The wine is made from CariƱena and local Garnacha tinta grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
