Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Fresh oak and a hint of cedar before fresh fruity aromas of black cherry and raspberry emerge. Bright acidity leaves the mouth watering after every sip. Hints of sweetness in the flavours of black cherry and dark berries are reigned in by acid and tannin. Sweet black licorice appears in the finish. Sits at 14.5% ABV, but it is well integrated with no highly apparent heat. Craving stewed lentils with smoked bacon or a nice lamb roast to match with this lovely red.
From the Puglia wine region, Tormaresca Torcicoda 2016 is a full-bodied Primitivo. Rich black plum, dark berry, strawberry jam flavours, smooth and full on the palate. So lush and luxurious. Wine grapes are organically grown and are sourced from two sites, the Maime Estate vineyards at San Pietro Vernotico, and from the Bocca di Lupo estate in Minervino Murge. The wine matured 10 months in small French and Hungarian oak barrels and a further eight months in bottle prior to its release. - Community Wine Reviews
