Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Love this easy-to-enjoy, smooth and full-bodied Valpolicella Ripasso from Tommasi. Dark red in the glass and fragrant with ripe dark cherry, plum, smoky and subtle spicy notes, rich and beautifully balanced on the palate with fresh acidity. The 2018 vintage was produced from 70% Corvina Veronese, 25% Rondinella and 5% Corvinone grapes sourced from three Tommasi vineyards: Conca d’Oro, La Groletta and De Buris. The wine was vinified in stainless steel tanks up to 10 days, then passed through Amarone grape skins for about 12 days. It was then aged for 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels. Tasted April 2023
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Nicely balanced and flavourful, with aromas of cherry and ripe strawberry, along with a touch of rich plum, warm spice and smoke. Full bodied with bright acidity, light tannins, and bright berry notes. Spice and smoky hints on a medium+ finish. Enjoy with a plate of dried salumi and hard cheeses.
