Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Love chocolate with your wine? Try this yummy fragrant California Cab Sauv with its cassis milk chocolate nose. The luscious palate fills your mouth with ripe blackberry, cassis, mocha, vanilla and oak. A bit tannic with lingering mocha finish. I tried mine with Crazy Hot Pop Chips. Excuse me while I pour another glass...

Smooth oaky characteristics with red cherry and red plum, spice and fresh tobacco. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Tom Gore Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon displays great varietal characteristics, balance, and complexity for the price! Fleshy dark fruit, plums, cherry, cedar, underbrush and vanilla. Refreshing acidity, with soft tannins, and a long finish make this wine killer with gourmet burgers, beef tenderloin, or aged cheddar. Enjoy 2016-2020. Tasted July 2016. 90 points. Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Notes of cherry, cedar brush, blueberry, and blackberry. The palate is similar with the sweetness of the cherry showing through nicely. It has medium-high tannins, but they're nicely rounded, and medium acidity. Mouth feel is full and velvety. Perfect for roast beef.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Tom Gore Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 has nice red fruit, cherry, raspberry, mocha, and vanilla. Tasted on November 29, 2015 (89/100)
Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Nice nose of cassis with very peppery aromatics adding complexity. Dryer than many Cali CS's, lingering well past what the price should deliver, with sweet oak appearing late.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Beautiful ruby in color, you are instantly greeted with strawberry jam on the nose with secondary aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla and black pepper. Balanced tannin to acidity ratio with a long finish of berry jam and black pepper. Tasted November 29, 2015.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Red fruit and vanilla on the nose. The palate offers some mocha with lots of red berries.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ripe raspberry and other red fruits on the nose. Cassis and pepper as well. Chocolate and cherry dominate the palette. This is a great value wine moving to my buy list.

Courtney Flood rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Sweet California cab. Plush strawberry jam and milk chocolate, palate has loads of jammy red fruit and vanilla. Pair with a few squares of dark chocolate.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This wine shows lovely berry-fruit forward aromas and flavours of red cherry and candied raspberry; along with hints of cocoa and vanilla. The body is on the lighter side for a California Cab with moderate acidity and integrated tannins. Enjoy with chocolate covered raspberries! Tasted Nov 2015.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas are predominantly raspberry and mocha on the nose, along with some currant or raisin. A bit dried than expected on the palate which was nice. Full bodied, medium tannin and a lot of red fruit, milk chocolate and mocha on the palate. Tannins are soft, and there is some acidity to help balance out the richness of flavours. Try with braised beef short ribs or you could even try it with chocolate and raspberry cheesecake.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

This is a medium-plus bodied red wine with sweet vanilla, mocha, strawberry, ripe plum, dark chocolate aromatics. Long finish with persistence of chocolate and vanilla. This wine is a crowd pleaser and is ideal for enjoying on it's own or with triple chocolate cream truffles. Enjoy this fruit-forward expression of warm climate California Cabernet Sauvignon by Tom Gore and team. www.tomgorevineyards.com
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

Priya: Smells and tastes like a Californian cab sauv. It's full-bodied, fruit-forward, low in tanins...all the hallmarks of the Californian style so if that's what you look for in a wine, you won't be disappointed with this. 85pts

Alex: Indeed my Lady, smells like Cali to me! A little too sweet though in the fruit on the nose, and alcohol is a bit assertive. There's a cocoa fudge note as well. The palate is on the sweeter side of dry, so the tannin and complexity of the grape doesn't come through for me. Low acidity leaves a sticky mouthfeel. A style of Cabernet that's loved by many, though not I. 80pts
Cabernet Sauvignon is dark red in color with aromas of cherry and currant and notes of leather and tobacco leaf along with hints of dark chocolate and mocha from oak aging. This wine is fruit forward on the entry with a rich, round mouthfeel and fine, supple tannins leading to a long finish.
