Huge and brooding with big black fruit. Full-bodied and smooth. A palate-whacker. This wine is 95% Shiraz with 5% Viognier for a lift in the flavours.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Czarnecki rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This intriguing combination of 96% shiraz/ 4% viognier proved to be a well matched duo in the glass. Another Australian gem from the McLaren Vale, the addition of viognier grapes bring a unique floral component to the aroma of ripe, jammy raspberries, toasted oak, and anise. Bursting with fruity red berries and spice on the palate, the well balanced tannins make this wine a definite pleaser, with or without food.
Glass-staining ruby. Ripe aromas of black raspberry, liquorice and a touch of vanilla. Generous and open, with a spicy quality to the sweet flavours of raspberry, cherry and candied violet. This delivers a lot of mid-palate sweetness and very good finishing clarity and spiciness. Source: Josh Raynolds, International Wine Cellar
