Although the Vintages Catalogue indicates the 2012 vintage, we tasted the 2011. A smooth, full-bodied and balanced Italian red wine with aromas of dark dry cherry and some spice notes. The 2011 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore Acinatico finishes with dark fruit and brooding. Pair with hearty meat dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lots of cherry on the nose. The palate shows cherry, slight oak, with a touch of vanilla and spice. Bright acidity, lt/med-bodied. Cherry finish.
The 2011 vintage of the Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore Acinatico is a robust blend of 60% Covina Veronese, 15% Corvinine, 20% Rondinella and 5% Molinara grapes. This full-bodied Italian red wine was aged in both stainless steel and large barrels. The refermentation of the Amarone skins takes 10 days, with daily pump overs. - Community Wine Reviews
