A smooth, full-bodied and balanced Italian red wine with aromas of dark dry cherry and some spice notes. The 2013 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore Acinatico finishes with dark fruit and brooding. Grippy tannins, chalky dry on the palate. Pair with hearty meat dishes.

Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore food pairings: spaghetti with eggplant and tomato sauce, meat ravioli with roma and tomato sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Natalie MacLean rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Good value
Produced by Stefano Accordini, the grapes for this robust Italian red wine are grown in the middle of the Valpolicella region so the wine may be designated "Classico." This wine is made using the traditional method of Ripasso where a young red wine is produced from selected grapes grown in the winery's hillside vineyards and blended with the skins and lees of dried grapes pressed during the beginning of February. This adds extra depth and flavour to the wine that was also aged for 12 months in oak barrels. - Community Wine Review
