Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Wonderful Marlborough Pinot Noir typicity, 13.5% ABV and ruby red. Elegant acidity, well structured, complex. This wine is designed to please, aged 9 months in 2-3 year old French oak. Pairs well with roasted turkey and cranberry sauce, or smoked salmon. Enjoy 2017-2022. @jonsteeves rated 91/100 - tasted May 2016
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

An impressive Pinot from the Southern Valleys of Marlborough. After several months of aging in fine French oak, this Pinot is super smooth and refreshing with rich dark cherry, baking spices, mocha, and grilled herbs on the nose and palate. Enjoy with gourmet burgers or herbed rack of lamb lollipops. Tasted May 2016. 90+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a fresh and fruity Pinot Noir from the South lsland region in Marlborough. A pretty pale ruby colour and lots of polished red fruit on the nose. Cherry, strawberry, raspberry, licorice and a touch of earth. On the palate, tart-chewy cherries, smoke, light pepper and strawberry freshness. Baking spice, vanilla and a hint of raspberry and anise carrying into the finish. Medium acidity with a light body and tannins. Nicely balanced. Will accompany mandarin beef, mushrooms and rice noodle dishes nicely.
Ian Anderson Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

It starts with the classic Pinot Noir nose. Intense red berry, leathery, and herbaceous. Good depth and complexity, so you get a lot more than just fruit. The wine itself is rich and velvety. Strong acidity blends well with the fruit and the oak aging shows on the palate with some vanilla. The fruit in the wine ensures it will be enjoyable on its own, but the spices and leather notes make it good for pairing as well. Game springs to mind as well as pork or tangy cheese.
Brent Gushowaty rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Eye – Pale with a pink rim.

Nose – Complex apple notes, touch of bubblegum/confected fruit.

Palate – Stemmy fruit, Applewood, fairly short, savoury fruit, still a little tannic grip, intensity medium minus, well-balanced. Atypical pinot noir.
