This robust Barossa Shiraz reads well on the palate and finish. A narrative of rich and layered nuances of blackberry, mint and black plum aromas. Smooth, with polished tannins and a long finish. Terrific mouth-watering juiciness. Pair this big red with roast beef or a literary bio-pic film.

Shiraz food pairings: pork, pasta in meat sauce, steak, lamb cutlets, beef brisket, peppercorn steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fragrant nose of strawberry, vanilla and cedar followed by a palate giving ripe cherry, strawberry, cassis and vanilla. Good acidity and long berry finish. Pick up a copy of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, pour yourself a glass and settle down for a relaxed evening.

Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

After taking a year "off", this wine is back !! In fact I think it might be the best Little Book Shiraz yet. Ripe berries show fruit dominates this wine, and soft structure like Australian wines all were some years ago. Low acid, no tannins.
Back label reads: They say don't judge a book by its cover so open a bottle of Mr. Black's Little Book and pour over his formulae, mixtures and little secrets. Concentrated and dense with black fruit, black pepper and a long finish. - Community Wine Reviews
