Beautifully structured and elegant with a long finish. This is royal Californian Cabernet. Layers of black fruit and toasty oak. Needs serious cellar time then decant 2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled rare steaks, blackened ribs with BBQ sauce, coq au vin, Cornish game hen, tomato tarte.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby red with a slight garnet hue. No purple in this wine, unlike many Napa Cabs these days, which is refreshing to see. Gorgeous complex bouquet of dark field berries, plum, currant, baking spices, dark chocolate, and cedar. Wow! A beautiful wine! Tasted November 2016. 96 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Dean Engemoen rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Aromas of blackberry, earth, plum, dried thyme and mint. Blackberry dominates the palate, with notes of earth, vanilla, mint, chocolate and fresh herbs. Well structured and a long finish, this is a delightful wine from a challenging vintage. Tasted October 2021.
Several different varietals make up Silver Oak 2011. The full-bodied red wine blend is made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. altogether offering some lovely complexity and concentration here on the wine. Decant and drink now or cellar for five years. - Community Wine Reviews
