Reviews and Ratings

Alexandre Craig DWS, FWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of sweet red cherry and plum are interlaced with grilled herbs and soft leather. A ripe tannic structure with a touch of the classic, slightly bitter Italian finish of cherry pit, which is balanced out with its refreshing acidity. Pleasant length on the finish as well.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of dried herbs, sweet red cherry, old leather, and a little baking spice. Everything in the aroma comes through nicely in the taste with the cinnamon working very well with the very fine, grippy tannins. Quite nicely balanced and gives the impression of a light-medium bodies wine despite the 14% ABV. A nice wine for lighter tomato based Italian food.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The 2011 vintage has been vinified ruby red at 14?V. This is a reservation quality from DOC Cannonau di Sardegna. This wine is made from Grenache varietal from old vines. Cherry, rhubarb, tart cassis with a hint of pomegranate and a subtle earthy notes with baking spice. Long finish with persistence of pomegranate and cherry. This is a mouth watering, tart and tangy Italian red with medium tannins and is food friendly. Enjoy this with traditional Italian fare with tomato based sauces and earthy truffle or mushroom. Recommend decant or aerate to your taste.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Tons of licorice and herb, with some dried fruit aromas of prune and raisin. Lots of dried fruit flavour, chewy toffee, and rosemary finish.
David Skinner rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Light ruby.Aromas of spice, sweet cherry and coffee. Chalky tannins lively acidity and medium full body. Flavours of raspberry jam and spice. Medium-long finish.
