Reviews and Ratings

Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

After fermentation in a mix of new and French oak, the resulting Chardonnay combines buttery smoothness and fruity crispness. Hints of spice and vanilla draw the nose, and a smooth long finish completes the experience. One of my favourites.

This Chardonnay from Sonoma County, California, from Rodney Strong Vineyards is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in chalky white ash (thus the name Chalk Hill), but it's not actually chalk, it's volcanic soils. Temperatures are moderated by cool ocean breezes and morning fogs. - Community Wine Reviews
