So savoury and delicious: Cabernet Sauvignon is rarely this expressive. Yes please! This wine almost jumps out of the glass in its vibrancy and intensity. It's incredibly flavourful for Australian cabernet which is usually far more austere than shiraz. Pair this full-bodied red wine with pepperoni pizza. Highly recommended.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled lamb, bison burgers, chicken salad, pork tenderloin, autumn hodge-podge.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Fragrant with cassis, pretty violet & mint aromas. Delicious rich palate repeats, adding redcurrant and black plum with touches of oak- a bit tannic. Pair with prime rib.
Tasted April 2017
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted July 7th 2017. With good friends at a home dinner, of grilled tenderloin in a red wine baby portobello mushroom sauce, fingerling potatoes and roasted asparagus.
Colour deep ruby, thick slow legs on the glass. Aromas, black plum, black currant, black cherry, smoke cedar and mint. Taste intense dark fruit, full bodied, grippy tannin, medium acidity and hot alcohol. If you like full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon this wine is for you. It reminds me of "Crocodile Dundee" fighting a full grown crocodile with only his knife.
This wine almost jumps out of the glass in its vibrancy and intensity. It's incredibly flavourful for Australian cabernet which is usually far more austere than shiraz. The red wine grapes for this wine come from some of the oldest vines in Australia's McLaren Vale wine region and highly recommended. Pirramimma was founded in 1892, and for the last 125 years, it has been owned and operated by the Johnston family. Drink now or cellar for three to develop more of the smoky, dark cherry flavours on this wine. - Community Wine Reviews
