From Adelaide, South Australia, Peter Lehmann's Layers 2021 is excellent value at $17 and a unique blend of Shiraz, Tempranillo, Mourvèdre and Grenache. Fruity, full-bodied and intense with lots of dark fruit, dark cherry, savoury herbs, cracked black pepper, spicy and generous on the palate with a lingering vibrant finish. The late Peter Lehmann, a.k.a. the Baron of the Barossa, was the first Australian wine industry figure to be appointed to the Order of Australia.

Purple in colour with aromas of black cherry, plum and black pepper. It is full bodied with full and well balanced acidity and tannins and is teaming with intense dark fruit and black pepper flavors. This will pair well at your next BBQ with steak, ribs or burgers. Tasted on March 26, 2023.
